GOOP: Read

I'm not sure how many of you have signed up to random ramblings that are the newsletter's called GOOP produced by Gwyneth Paltrow, however if you have then you would most certainly know that Thursdays are GOOP day, well I think its Friday here in Australia. I certainly do not recommend them, but I do get a certain level of enjoyment from her attempts at blessing us lower persons with her knowledge.

I have decided to do my own GOOP inspired by her last weeks installment and pass on a selection of some of my favorite novels

1. Anya by Susan Fromberg Schaeffer
2. In the skin of a lion by Michael Ondaatje
3. Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Ali
4. The Alexandria Quartet by Lawrence Durrell
5. Anna Karenin by Leo Tolstoy
6. The Seagull by Anton Checkov (although this is actually a play but one of my all time favorites)
7. Playing with the grown ups by Sophie Dahl (because a little light reading is always fun)

Australia Day

Happy Australia Day, whilst there is pressure within Australia to change the date of Australia Day so that it is not the celebration of the invasion of this large island, I would say for most Aussies its a chance to get together for a bbq, drink beer and listen to the triple J hottest 100 whilst trying to stay cool from the hot summer sun.

You Look Hot

This editorial is from Russh Issue 19. The model is Cassie Gardner. I really like how she has that sun-bleached, slightly 80's hair with the re-growth showing through. The pink lipstick looks great and the clothes give me a sort of 90's LA vibe, although I've never been to LA I've been kindof referencing this ed all summer with the denim, leather, black, gold and whites.

Leopard Print Coat

I have become the proud owner of a gorgeous leopard print coat (faux of course) thanks to ebay. As I type it is on its way in the mail and hopefully will arrive on Tuesday. Right now in the land of OZ it is actually summer and a winter coat is last thing I could possibly want to wear right now. So I thought i'd share some of my inspiration for when I can finally wear it. Of course Kate Moss owns one...

I think the key when wearing such a coat is keep it simple or keep it casual

Vintage Pod Chair

I have to say there is nothing I love more than going rummaging around in second hand stores. I am the ultimate op-shopper, thifter, vintage shopper (what ever you want to call it) addict. Of course when you are like this it can be ultra disheartening when you rummage and leave the store empty handed. This has been happening to me a fair bit recently
until the other day I found this baby...

The ultimate 19080's pod chair in brand new condition, complete with its own matching foot stool. I was over the moon. Its super comfy...I usually avoid the furniture section of all the second hand stores because In my opinion they're usually waaaaay too overpriced. This baby was a bargain as it hadn't been priced and the girl couldn't be bothered waiting for the pricing lady....It was definitely a great way to break my spell of finding nothing.

Current obsession

Normally I shun fruity flavored teas, however I am currently in love with this green tea with Goji Berry and Pomegranate.
